Tour recap… the five shows we did (London, Cologne, Leuven, Nuremburg and Heerlen) went well with each one a different venue, different feel and different end result, but all very enjoyable shows.  Unfortunately I had to pull out of the last 2 shows so apologies to anyone hoping to see them – Dirk did a fine job of a solo set at them.

So the Sleep of Reason has concluded it’s work – get the LP while you can.

A rare live show by Yellow6 at Nottingham Chameleon on 20 November 2012, with Thought Forms, The Cult Of Dom Keller, Sunwolf and Tricolour Sun.  Yellow6 will be on second shortly after 8pm and it’s £4 on the door.  It’ll be a short set and partly improvised (around themes of Cut and Egg)

Merry6mas2012

Continuing the series started in 1999, the 14^th merry6mas arrives late November.  This time it’s a pressed CD in a colour card sleeve in an edition of 200 copies.  It features music recorded for a film soundtrack (film still in production).  These are selections from music recorded during 2012, some of which will be in the film, some not.  More on the film in good time.

(It will also be available to buy / download from Bandcamp in early 2013.)

Not much Yellow6 news for now… but some collaboration news.

Currently being mastered by Fraser McGowan (Caught In The Wake Forever) is a collaboration between David Newlyn and Yellow6 which will be released this autumn by Sound In Silence.  More on that soon…

But the big news is that The Sleep Of Reason is almost upon us.  The long awaited trilogy will be released by tonefloat as a 4LP set on 09 October 2012.  It is available to pre-order now at the Tonefloat store for 39.99 Euro  http://www.crazy-diamond.nl/tonefloat/

Over the past few years, alongside their own solo projects, Dirk Serries and Jon Attwood [Yellow 6] have been slowly working on a trilogy of albums as The Sleep Of Reason. This trilogy combines their own individual takes on guitar drone and ambience into something with its own character and style. The resulting music sees their guitars blend into slowly shifting soundscapes that take you to a different place and time. Each album is a continuation of the previous one but differs on an almost subliminal level, making the listener realise over time that the sleep of reason is a slowly mutating, thematic and specific musical entity.

Limited to 200 copies only, the set not only includes the trilogy of lps, but also a one-sided live lp recorded during the tonefloat label night 2011, and a cd with a selection of tracks taken from the three studio albums.

The release date is October 9 - 2012, and it's available for pre-order now from the tonefloat store.
